Draper and Kramer’s Kurstie Butcher Named to Institute of Real Estate Management’s Prestigious 30 Under 30 List for 2022
CHICAGO, IL – Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, a national full-service real estate firm, today announced that Kurstie Butcher, real estate management and operations specialist, has been named to the 30 Under 30 List of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for 2022 This prestigious honor recognizes the next generation of real estate management leaders who have already made a significant impact in the industry and in their communities.
“Kurstie has grown tremendously over his five years at Draper and Kramer, and his leadership skills have come to the fore not only through his current role – which allows him to be a mentor and share best practices within of our real estate teams – but also through her participation in IREM,” said Julie Stevlingson, senior vice president and director of management services at Draper and Kramer. “She demonstrates a strong desire to help those who surround them to be more successful and has the traits and qualities of an emerging leader. She is one of the most deserving recipients of IREM’s 30 Under 30 distinction.
Butcher was nominated for 30 Under 30 recognition for her dedication to advancing the property management profession through demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to community service, and the deserved respect of her colleagues, employees and peers in industry.
A 10-year veteran in the property management industry, Butcher joined Draper and Kramer in 2018 as a property manager at North 680, a 180-unit luxury rental community in Schaumburg, Illinois. Since 2021, she has been a Property Management and Operations Specialist, a new position she helped envision and create as part of Draper and Kramer’s DK Elevate development program for high-performing employees. In this role, she provides a valuable level of company-wide support and reinforces best practices by acting as a “floating” property manager to be filled as needed at property sites; provide support and mentorship to teams; train current and new employees; and leading special projects.
Butcher has a long history of service with IREM. In May 2022, she was named Certified Residential Manager (ARM) of the Year by the Chicago Chapter of IREM. She serves on the organization’s DEI National Advisory Board, is a Judging Panel Member for the Diversity & Inclusion Succession Initiatives Leaders Program, serves on the Cares Committee for the Chicago Chapter, and participates in the National Next Gen CPM Program. She has also been involved in DEI efforts at Draper and Kramer, where she was a founding member of a group dedicated to DEI initiatives.
