ITANDI is part of GA technologies group(Headquarters: Minato-Ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryo Higuchi; Values Code: 3491), the Company launched the service of providing a checklist for the fight against child abuse through its SaaS service “ITANDI BB” targeting real estate companies.

Aabout the “Orange Ribbon Movement Against Child Abuse”(※1)

The whole movement started with a sad story of two little brothers who died following the mistreatment of their father’s friend. In 2004, the two little boys aged 3 and 4 were reported dead thrown from the bridge. The younger brothers residing in Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture, were found being abused by their father’s friend on several occasions and were under the temporary protection of the local police because of it. However, the two little boys have received no support or attention from the organizations that are supposed to be handling the case. The two boys were again badly beaten to the point where they were nearly dead and thrown off a bridge into the river. To prevent such a tragic event from happening again, Oyama City started this “Orange Ribbon Anti-Child Abuse Movement” to raise awareness about child abuse.

Such a tragic case of child abuse is not uncommon, on average more than 50 cases of child abuse have been reported each year in Japan. A child who has been physically and mentally abused when he was young tends to suffer from interrelated problems when he grows up, even if he has his own family and workplace. Some of these people even end up committing suicide because of such a painful experience born from their childhood. In order to prevent such occurrences from happening, a non-profit organization called Japan Network for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect started this Orange Ribbon Helpline to receive reports of child abuse at home. on a national scale, the service develops around Japan currently.

ITANDI Supports Orange Ribbon to Prevent Child Abuse

A statistic released by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare indicates that more than 200,000 cases of child abusee were reported in 2020. These cases were reported by the consultation centers for children Japan. The children reported in these cases are under 18 (the legal age Japan at 18 years old). The number is also the highest compared to past figures. The places where the abusive activities occur are mostly “in homes” with the child’s “parents or so-called legal guardians” being the person who committed the abuse. (※2)

ITANDI requests the participation of real estate companies in Japan join this movement to pay attention to all possible signs that could be a potential child abuse situation. These signs generally include but are not limited to the following situations: witnesses from neighbors, late payment of rent from a tenant, and extremely unsanitary living environment.you, etc A real estate agent is the person who has close relationships and interactions with a local area and is usually the person who has access to residents’ homes.
