Pelican-Valley Emphasizes Affordable Housing and Wins Real Estate Company of the Year Award
Pelican-Valley Nigeria Limited, based in Ogun State, has been named Best Real Estate Company of the Year by Elegant Events in the 2022 edition of its Ogun Merit Awards 2022.
Pelican-Valley topped dozens of other real estate majors to land the position.
The recognition comes about nine months after winning the same 2021 Property Company of the Year award at the Gateway Business Awards event.
Receiving the award at Daktad Hotels, Abeokuta, the state capital, the Managing Director (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo considered the award well deserved, assuring that the company would persevere in its integrity and character that went on to earn them honor, goodwill and more rewards.
He said that with dedication, commitment and integrity, Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd will rise to the top of the country’s real estate industry, ensuring that better deals await the company’s existing, prospective and prospective clients.
He said, “We are grateful for this award and it is a well-deserved honor considering that we have raised the bar in terms of real estate development in Ogun State. Recently, the Commissioner of Town and Physical Planning dubbed me “the poster boy for the real estate industry in Ogun State”. It was not served à la carte, we deserved it.
“We thank the organization for recognizing us, for finding it necessary to recognize us for doing the great work we are doing in the real estate sector of Ogun State. I will say, thank you. Not only to them but also to all our subscribers, prospects and potential customers. We will continue to raise the bar.
“The award is a call for greater service, efficiency and effectiveness in what we do. We will definitely keep up the pace because we are not biting off more than we can chew.
Responding to questions from reporters shortly after the award, Adeyemo said the company will continue to provide affordable, quality and accessible housing to Nigerians to complement the government’s efforts to close the housing gap in the country.
He explained why Pelican has not yet expanded beyond Gateway State, saying the company wants to get its house in shape before exploring real estate opportunities in other states in the federation.
“Because of our integrity and character, we’ve come to a place where many people invite us to bigger deals, but first we want to maintain what we’re doing because integrity is like money just manage it and you don’t need to stretch it too much lest you waste it It’s not about having it all it’s about doing what you make a model for potential investors to adopt. To the glory of God, I don’t think it will be difficult for us to keep up the pace of successes and accolades that we garner.

“As we begin to expand left and right, expanding into Abuja, running to Kaduna today and moving to Kano the next day, who will effectively manage what we do in these places? Many young Nigerians are not yet ready to get serious with important life principles. They just want to do it in a snap.
“So we want to build our house first, find the right people before looking to grow further. Recently, we did a total ‘fumigation’ to remove any cancerous items for our organization and remove anything that doesn’t is not up to our high standards and integrity. This is part of the process we have initiated to go further, grow, develop and expand. We need to put our house together before further expansion so that the he integrity and good will that we have and that we enjoy are not misused. I cannot be everywhere but once my assets are domiciled in an axis, I will be able to follow them.
“I realized that overseeing real estate business is not something you can do by proxy. You just have to be there, but when you have that many branches, the business will suffer and the investors will suffer too, because most young Nigerians are of integrity and morally deficient. And if you put all your hard work in their hands for 10 or 15 years, they will squander it or ruin it in the blink of an eye.We are working on our system and as soon as we will have the right like-minded people, we will embark on expansion,” Adeyemo said.
