Austin (Travis County) – A local real estate company received rezoning for a 399-unit multi-family development at a town planning committee meeting last week.

The 4.1 acre property north of Austin has been converted from general commercial services (CS) to multi-family housing (MF-6) with a conditional overlay that limits the building height to 60 feet.

On the site, there is currently a shopping center of 147,522 square feet, Spectrum Retail Center, it will have to be shaved. The address of the property is 8440 Burnet Road.

The working title of the project is based on its location, 8440 Burnet Multifamily.

Jamil Alam, a manager with Endeavor Real Estate Group proposes to develop the project under the entity OP II ATX 844 0 Burnet Road LTD.

Standard landscaping and tree protection will be required in accordance with the city’s land use planning code.

The development is located approximately three blocks east of a Cape Town Metro railway.

Walter W. Cardwell IV with the law firm Armbrust & Brown PLLC represented the project to the commission.
